March is Women’s History Month and the theme for all workshops taking place here on Cerritos campus this month is “Women Pioneering the Future”.
Several workshops will take place at Cerritos College including one about women and breast cancer.
This Monday, Mar. 5th from 11:30am to 1:00p.m., Ester Robinson, RN, will be speaking on the subject at the technology education building in room TE-1.
Robinson will not only talk about the danger of breast cancer but also how to prevent it from happening.
During her talk, she will show students a power point presentation covering health statistics, different ethnic groups who develop the disease and preventive measures. She will also talk about different health risks women take when they don’t take the time to observe their breasts.
At the end, students are encouraged to pick up some handouts on how to give themselves a breast exam.
Reservations are required, so those students planning on attending should RSVP by calling the Cerritos College Career Services Re-Entry Resource Center at 860-2451 ext. 2362.
