“Star Trek” saga continues greatly

As a long time Trekkie and having an understanding of the “Star Trek” legacy, it must be said that the new remake of Star Trek hit right on the nose.

That outcome has actually come as a suprise, regarding the youth and minor experience of a few of the actors in the film.

The film captured the crew of the enterprise from the origins of the “Star Trek” dynasty.

Every actor that played his assigned character really showed how much he studied the character he was playing and also showed the diversity of his acting talents.

Chris Pine (“Smokin’ Aces”),  who played Captain James Tiberius Kirk, did a phenominal job playing the young Kirk and growing into the mature leader Kirk was.

For anyone who knows the original Trek storyline, that aspect of the film was descipted perfectly and a lot of new improvements to Star Trek were also shown such as the humor, action, up-to-date qualities.

Scotty, the Enterprise’s second in command and engineer, was played by hilarious actor Simon Pegg (“Shaun of the Dead”).

The beautiful Zoe Saldana (“Guess Who”) played Uhara, the communications and technical officer and sometimes love interest of Captain Kirk.

Putting Leonard Nemoy in the film as the past Spock was a genius move by director J.J. Abrams.

The young, intellegent Spock was played wonderfully by Zachary Quinto (TV’s “Heroes”).

The early battles Spock and Kirk had really brought out the ranging talents of the actors portraying them.

The Romulan Villian leader, Captain Nero, led the Romulans on a quest destroying planets in search of the young Spock to stop him and Kirk from unting together to save Earth.

Eric Bana (“The Other Boleyn Girl”) played the character of Nero and also did a fantastic job in portraying a villain of a different element.

John Cho (“Harold and Kumar” movies) portrayed Sulu, the Enterprise helmsman, and he also went in to a different acting element but did a wonderful job, learning the ins and outs of the character from former Sulu, George Takei and taking two weeks of fighting techniques.

Overall, the film was a suprise hit and with hopes there will be many more “Star Trek” films to come, along with the same cast.
