The Cerritos College Falcons made it once again to the Strawberry Bowl on Saturday.

The Falcons have won the Bowl game the four years in row.Everyone was expecting this game to be a fifth bowl win, but unfortunately the Falcons were defeated by Saddleback.

The game was a close one, all the while Cerritos and Saddleback were neck and neck each quarter and ended up going into overtime.

Saddleback actually dominated the game by making the first touchdown, but Cerritos wanted the ball and made a touchdown within three minutes later.

In the second quarter Cerritos took charge and made another touchdown.

Cerritos took control of the game by holding Saddleback until the fourth quarter when Saddleback made a touchdown, thus tying the game, 14-14.

Cerritos regained possession of the ball and scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter putting the Falcons ahead, 21-14.

Two minutes later the Gauchos came back and scored a touchdown as well tying up the game with 11:15 to go.

During the course of the third quarter while Cerritos had possession of the ball Saddleback managed to get an interception and scored a touchdown putting Saddleback in the lead, 28-21.

Cerritos managed to hold on with a few seconds left in the game and tied the game up 28-28. The game was taken into overtime at the 25-yard line.

Saddleback had possession of the ball first and ran it in putting the Gauchos ahead by 35-28.

It was now Cerritos turn to have the ball and the time was do or die.Saddleback stood strong at the line while Cerritos tried desperately to make the run.

Cerritos was unable to make a final touchdown.

In result the Falcons lost the first Strawberry Bowl in five years.The Falcons ended their season 8-3.

“It was a game of big plays and they came up with one more big play than we did,” Kurt Landgren.
