Men’s Tennis

The Falcons went up against Mt. Sac who is tied for first in the South Coast Conference on Thursday and lost to the Mounties 3-6.

Cerritos will face Marymount College on Thursday at 2p.m. in a confernece match hosted by Cerritos.

The Falcons are now 2-2 in conference.

In the first set of the singles Antuan Smith won his match 6-4 as well as Surgio Huerta.

“It was who could maintain confidence and I felt there was a lot of pressure, ” Smith said.

Charlie Robles who loss his match stated “I got overconfident because we won our last two matches and we were making all the errors. They were more consistant than we were.”

Daniel Aguilar competed in the final single set. Aguilar competed in a grueling three in a half hour match until Aguilar broke the tie and won his set 6-4, 5-7, 7-6, 10-8.

“It came down to see who could make the least amount of mistakes,” Aguilar said.

As far as the double sets Cerritos was not able to win one match.

Cerritos No.1 double team Ramzy Abourialy and Ki Kim loss their match.

Smith and Aguilar teamed up in a close match, but were defeated.

“Each serve they sent over we would send it back, but they would break it,” Aguilar said.
