The Cerritos College Track and Field team Faced Long Beach City College and Mt. San Antonio City College Friday in a south coast conference tri meet.The Cerritos men did particularly well in the 400m were they took both 1st place and second place spots in the two heats and the 3rd and 4th in the second heat.The Falcon’s two 1st place winners in the event were Travon Lee 47:95 seconds and Keneth Ray with a time of 51:18 seconds. The Second place winners were Antoine Woodward 48:33 in the first heat and Nice Mashaka 51:34 in the second heat.The Falcons were also very succesfull in the second heat of the 100m race were they had Chris Hardiman capture 1st place at 10:89 and Joshua Smith get 2nd place with a time of 11:18.Some of the Men’s top achievers for the meet were Travon Lee and Carchell Wright. Lee had a 1st place finish in the first heat of the 400m and 2nd place in the 200m, while Wright had two 3rd place finishes in both the 100m and the 200m.The Women did not fare as well as their male counter parts. Mt SAC was the dominant force in the meet on the ladies side accuring six first place spots and six second place spots in the 15 races in the meet.Cerritos did have an outstading individual effort by April Brown who finished in first place in the 100m and 200m races, with times of 11:79 and 24:77 respectively.The Lady Falcons did do well in the 200m were they captured the first and second places with the efforts of Brown and Cora Diggins who had a time of 25:55.The Falcon’s next meet will be Saturday at Bakersfield.
