Body modification should be a respected personal choice

When thinking of different body modification like cultural neck rings and scrotal implants, it takes many of our breaths away.

Body tattoo and piercing in comparison is not so scary anymore. Different cultures require various forms of body modifications including ear piercing and some kind of body tattoos.

Body modification should be an individual indulgence; it should not be forced by our cultures as we all have the right of choice.

Forcing someone to have body modifications as required by their culture should be highly punished.

Many in today’s world love to change their bodies. Some of us may not like the process of doing it, but that’s their choice and we should not be interfering in others desires.

Tattoos look awesome, but having a tattoo would make it really difficult to find a job, not to mention the pain.

Instead of going through with painful and permanent skin art, henna tattoos could be used.

Henna tattoos are temporary tattoos that come off within two weeks. Isn’t that mind blowing? It’s a good alternative for those who are scared of needles and the best thing about it is that it doesn’t hurt at all.

Some have the name of our boy friend or girl friend on our body and if we break up after dating, the tattoo remains permanent.

Having the name of a former partner might create problems in our present relationships.

There is a saying that tattoos are the only things that go along with us after death. Doesn’t that sound so wonderful?

Everything earned during the life time is valueless after our death, everyone has to leave their family, their wealth, and everything that belongs to them, but the tattoo leaves with us after our death.

Still my native country of Nepal, women are not allowed to have a tattoo.

Some part of the world still believes tattooing is a crime, which sounds really uncivilized. It’s understandable if anyone disagrees with having a tattoo, but it’s really wrong to ban someone from having a tattoo.

It’s an individual’s right weather they want to have a tattoo or not.

Some of my friends said to me that their mother told her not to have a tattoo; as it looks “gangster”.

How come anyone say they look gangster by their look? You can’t. That’s just so ridiculous.

Other body modifications include: body piercing, puncturing or cutting parts of the body, surface implants and implanting neck rings.

Neck rings are formed with one or more spiral metal coils worn as jewels around the neck to make the neck literally longer.

Implants are placing devices under the human skin.

How can people go through these types of body modification?

Tattooing some minor types of piercing like ear and nose don’t hurt that much, but the other body modification like implants and neck rings seem a lot more drastic.

When someone says it’s really enjoyable to have different body modifications performed, its weird to think they find happiness in pain.

Body modification should remain all about self-happiness, self-satisfaction and sometimes just something to show off in front of people to make us look unique or cool to other people.
