Womens soccer vs Pasadena

With the superior overall speed and defense, the Lady Falcons (8-0-2) ended their soccer against Pasadena City (7-3-5) in a tie game on Thursday.

With a smaller field than usual to play on in this game, the falcons had less  room to play, which came to their disadvantage.

The ladies had a few chances of scoring in the first half.

First potential shot was when forward Daniela Martin sent a pass to midfielder Tatiana Cortes who shot, but was stopped by the Lancers goalkeeper, Yvette Hernandez stopped the good shot.

Second great hot was when forward Liliana Leos had a open shot, but kicked a little passed the net

With the open field, and with a few of open opportunities, the ladies came short of scoring in the first half, making the score 0-0.

In the second half, forward Jessica Cisenros got a corner kick but just missed it over the top of the goal post.

Though it was a tie, the Falcons had the better overall game, from the start, especially for goalkeeper Sandra Coto, who had two goal saves.

“It was a difficult game to play”, assistance coach Candice Silva “We are used to playing on a large field. It was one of our unlucky games. We missed a lot of oppurnties.”

The game ended up being a tie game, leaving Cerritos still on top of their division.

The player of this game happened to be Cisenros

” She really helped us get the ball down the field.” Silvia said.

Cerritos next game will be against their rivials Long Beach City.

“I think we will always be ready for Long Beach because of the rivalry. So the ladies will come out to play. And its better that we will be playing at home.” Silva said.
