Cerritos College hosted an emergency special board of trustee meeting on Aug. 31 where the board discussed two administrative items for the academic fiscal year of 2022-2023.
During the board of trustee meeting on Aug. 17, the chief of campus police gave a presentation on what changes the Cerritos College Police Department (CCPD) made to make Cerritos College a happier and safer environment.
Tom Gallivan, who worked his way up to captain in the police force in Orange County and was the chief of campus police for Cerritos College, died on July 27.
A joint statement was sent on July 20th around 4 p.m. where the vice president of CCFF and the vice president of human resources told faculty that there has been a tentative agreement reached.
Cerritos College had its second board meeting in the summer on July 21 at 7 p.m. where public comments talked about the mandates and there was a discussion around the college's COVID-19 requirements.
Cerritos College recently closed due to a power outage on June 22 and happened because of the lightning and thunderstorms that took place around 4 a.m. that same day.
