The Cerritos women’s basketball team sent Los Angeles Trade Tech packing by beating the Lady Techsters 61-58.

The Falcons went into halftime losing 31-23.

In the second half Andrews tied the score at 41 a piece, and she scored again making the score 44-43.

Falcons’ forward Singleton made the score 55-48 Tech, and Tori Stewart scored to bring the Falcons to within one point, 56-55.

Andrews went all the way to give the Falcons the lead, 57-56. Nicole Bryant made the score 61-58 on two free throws.

Coach Karen Welliver said that Camille Singleton did a great job in keeping Danielle Rainey of the Techsters under control.

“I was pleased with the teams performance at the free-throw line. The team started off slow, but as long as they played hard that was good.”

Guard Monique Hall said, “We had a bad first half. We were just not hitting our shots.”

“In the second half we [were] more concentrated on finishing our shots.”

Stewart said, “Our defense kept us in the game. That’s what won the game for us.”

“In the second half we just had to get going, meaning we needed to slow down and hit our shots.”

Bryant said, “We started off slow, meaning we were not making our shots.

“In the last ten minutes we wanted it more, meaning we out played them.

“We controlled the game.”
