Sophomore Marci Wong plays for the Cerritos College women’s basketball team, which is now in playoffs.

Wong is the team’s shortest starting players.

At 4’10 Wong stands tall playing guard going up against other women who are twice her size.

Wong has also been named MVP.

Q. How long have you been playing basketball?

M. I have been playing since I was five years old and this is my second year playing for Cerritos,

Q. What would you say have been your biggest challenges?

M. Being short. (Wong laughs).

Q. Has being short ever slowed down or hurt your game?

M. I would say the hardest thing is trying to get my shots up so I have to drive more, and I just have to adjust to everyone else so no one gets in my face.

Q. As a basketball player what is your most memorable moment?

M. For last season it would have to be when I got second team conference and for this year I got first team conference.

Q. How has being a Falcon improved your game?

M. Being a Falcon had helped me to become a better athlete mainly because of my coaches.

Q. Who do you look up to as you biggest inspiration? And why?

M. My mom because she is always there for me and she has always worked hard to support me.

Q. Who is you favorite basketball player?

M. Cobey Bryant and Allen Iverson

Q. Who would you say inspired you to play basketball?

M. My Brothers. I have three brothers and I remember ever since I was little they were always playing basketball.

Q. How far do you plan on going in basketball?

M. I hope to get a scholarship to a Cal State, University, or a D-2 school.

Q. What are your major and what profession do plan on going into?

M. I’m majoring in Sociology and English because I want to become a first grade teacher.
