An Emergency Operations Training Workshop for community colleges was held in LC155 last Thursday.
The workshop was hosted from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with representatives from a range of community colleges in the Los Angeles and Orange County area.
The Emergency Management Coordinator of the Coast Community College District was the instructor of the event.
Linda Morin explained the purpose of the workshop is “to prepare faculty in case of disaster… sort of a what-would-you-do.”
Schools represented included: Coast Community College, Fullerton College, Golden West, Santa Monica, Mt. San Antonio, North Orange Coast Community District, Saddleback, Rio Hondo, Santa Monica, Santiago and LA Trade Tech.
The workshop ensures California community colleges will be equipped with personel who are knowledgeable about what to do in case of disaster emergencies.
There are a total of three workshops that must be completed in order to undergo complete training.
