Cerritos College Board of Trustees President Dr. Ted Edmiston was elected Thursday, May 26 as president of the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association during its 75th Annual Meeting at Luminarias Restaurant in Monterey Park. Edmiston, a chiropractor and Bellflower resident, has served as a member of the college’s board of trustees since 1991.
Along with Edmiston, the LACSTA board includes Vice President Suzan Solomon of Newhall School District and Secretary/Treasurer Joseph Probst, of Charter Oak Unified School District. The newly elected board will preside June 30 at the LACSTA executive board meeting at the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
The Los Angeles County School Trustees Association is an organization of school boards founded in 1937. About 90 percent of the 93 school and community college districts in Los Angeles County, as well as the County Board of Education, are members of LACSTA.
