The coming of each season brings with it specific memories, rituals, events, beginnings, and endings. Cerritos College Art department commemorates the beginning of each new school year with an art exhibition that introduces new students to the faculty. Critical Mass is a group exhibition featuring the Art department faculty of Cerritos College.
For students this is an opportunity to see the artwork of instructors, become familiar with the diversity of art itself, and shake hands with faculty members. For our instructors, this exhibition is a good opportunity to see what their labors of love have provided during the summer months.
Cerritos College annually displays the different media in which artists have developed their field of expertise in:

- Jewelry
- Painting
- Photography
- Printmaking
- Sculpture
- Woodworking.
A Summer evening opening reception will be held Aug. 29, from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served and many of the department faculty will be present to answer questions pertaining to their work and classes being taught here at Cerritos College.
