The Cerritos men’s soccer team scored three goals in the second half at Orange Coast College and held on to defeat the host Pirates, 3-2 Monday in the season opener for both teams.
The Falcons (1-0), played with a man advantage for a good part of the game as an Orange Coast player was ejected in the first half.
Cerritos scored on penalty kicks by Jorge Vargas and Miguel Zepeda, and Vargas added another goal.
Goalkeeper Marco Lopez recorded 12 saves for the Falcons.
