Falcon linebacker Philip Perry blocked a field goal attempt late in the fourth quarter to preserve a 21-19 win by the Cerritos College football team over Bakersfield College.
The Renegades (0-1) entered the game as the top-ranked team in Southern California and second-ranked in the state by the JC Athletic Bureau, and ranked fifth in the nation.
The Falcons (1-0), were ranked 14th in the nation.
Cerritos led 12-7 at halftime on a pair of touchdown passes from Mike Harrison to Chris Chatman.
Bakersfield scored two touchdowns to take the lead, the second on a returned fumble recovery.
But Adam Sontag kicked a field goal to give the Falcons the lead for good.
