In the words of Oscar Wilde, ” Jourmalism in unreadable, and literature is unread.” And so, my deepest thanks to the journalist of the Talon Marks for putting my words in a blender and pouring them out. Now the English Department has a basis for asking me to drink hemlock, and my students are asking for a drug test.
According to Rebecca West, ” Journalism is the ability to meet the challenge of filling space.” That’s why paragraphs in letters to the editor are reduced to sentences, and the logic is reduced to rubble. So, if anyone wants to see the original letter, just stop by my office.
