Starmites, a critically acclaimed musical that has been nominated for six Tony awards is headed for Cerritos colleges Burnight Center theatre.
Brought to you by the Cerritos College Department of Theatre and the Associated students, Starmites will run Oct. 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.
Starmites tells the story of an ordinary girl who becomes obsessed with her comic books and gets sucked into a fantasy world of comic book superheroes where she becomes a “Starmite.”
“It is a super, action, adventure, rock musical kind of a thing” said Jordan Alexander, who plays the part of ‘Space Punk’. “It’s real fun family entertainment, it is not too heavy or thought provoking, you can just come for a couple of hours, forget the world and enjoy yourself
The shows “larger than life” appearance will be visibly stimulating for its audiences.
Director and choreographer , Georgia Wells, costume designer Gary Castler, lighting designer Brad Enoch, and make-up designer Christine Steinkamp, have created an out of this world feel with a plethora of exotic lights, fog machines, make-up and costumes.
