The culmination of four weeks of campaigning came to a head, Saturday night, when the Feminist Majority’s Claudia Geldis was crowned homecoming queen 2001/2002.
During halftime of the Falcon/Warrior game, all the candidates walked across the football field to a platform in front of the Cerritos crowd.
As the suspense built, it was finally announced that Geldis had won. She was immediately adorned with the queen’s cape, then went into the stands to mingle with her adoring public.
The float parade, which was made up of floats constructed earlier in the week by various clubs, then got underway.
To cap the night off, the Falcons got back to their winning ways by defeating El Camino’s Warriors.
