Betty McGinnis, RN, MEd, chair of the American Cancer Society’s Youth and Cancer Work Group, presents Cerritos student Charles Quinio with a Youth Cancer Survivors Scholarship toward his college education.
Quinio is a sophomore studying film and television production.
This year the American Cancer Society provided 30 survivors of childhood cancer with stipends of up to $5,000 apiece in the second year of the scholarship program in California.
The Young Cancer Survivor Program was created to assist cancer survivors ages 25 and younger with the high costs of attending an institution of higher learning.
