Since winning their first South Coast Conference championship back in 1970-71, the Cerritos College men’s basketball team has gone more than two years between winning titles only once (1975-79).
It has been two years since the Falcons have won a conference title, but made great strides in winning their 17th SCC title after defeating Long Beach City (67-61) and Los Angeles Harbor (78-54) last week.
With the wins, the Falcons are now in sole possession of first place with just four regular season games remaining.
This week, Cerritos (21-6, 5-1) will face two tough opponents on the road. On Wednesday, the Falcons will travel to Compton to face the Tartars, while they are slated to face El Camino on Friday, with both games scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
