Local high school students got a glimpse into college life last Friday as Cerritos College hosted its fourth annual Senior Preview Day.

More than 13, 00 students from over 30 different colleges invaded the campus in hopes of uncovering all of what Cerritos college has to offer.

The college bound students day began at 9 a.m. with an opening presentation in the gym, which was followed by a vocational/academic overview, a campus tour, presentations, lunch, and a performance by the college pop ensemble and the choir.

Cerritos College clubs and programs also erected booths and met with students in Falcon Square to encourage the students to become part of the Cerritos College community.

Lisa Engelbrecht, a calligraphy teacher at Cerritos College, encouraged students to visit her booth by writing their names in calligraphy.

“We had a lot of people coming to our booth,” she said.

“Giving out free names was good publicity, we were signing like crazy.”

Although Senior Preview Day was a day to draw students to the college some students

had already chosen Cerritos as their college choice.

Joe Garcia, an Artesia High School senior, said “ I had already decided to come to Cerritos, today was just basically a tour for me.”
