The exhibit showcases the talents of many faculty members of the Art and Design department.
Every faculty member from the department was invited to participate in this event. Marcus Adams, Gallery director, ensures that there will be a variety types of art presented “Whatever the faculty bring in,” he said, “paintings, sculptures, mix media.” There is a little of everything.
The event, which has been going on for several years, attracts students and faculty members alike. The diversity of the exhibit can bring in an equally diverse crowd.
The exhibit gives the faculty members a chance to see the work of their colleagues and see their co-workers in a less professional environment. The show also gives students a chance to see the work of the professors. “Students can see what the faculty do and conceivably want to take the class,” Adams said. Students also get a chance to see their professors putting their lectures into practice.
For people who are just interested in expanding their cultural horizons, the exhibit is an excellent and convenient way to take in some culture. Community members are welcome to come and see the various examples of Contemporary art and design.
The art gallery also has several other events planned for the fall season. Among the upcoming events, there will be the Los Angeles Community Folk Art Show, which will run through October and the student art sale that will take place in December.
The faculty exhibit will be running through Sept. 19 in the Art Gallery. The gallery will be open to the public Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday through Thursday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is no admission charge and parking is available in lot C-10
