Women’s Cross Country: Running for miles

Although the Lady Falcons trained hard for their meet last Saturday, they were greeted with a longer running course then they had expected.

Even though these women placed sixth out of 14 teams at their last match against Los Angeles Invitational, the meet gave them a chance to show their improvement and recognize the areas they still need to work on.

These runners agree that at their next match they will pace themselves rather than pushing too hard too fast.

Other than placing strong there was plenty of improvement taking place at the competition.

Melissa Dixon was just one of the few who shows that hard work, dedication, and truly pays off, by improving her time by at least two minutes.

This year these Falcons feel stronger as a team by displaying their unity as teammates and friends on and off the track.

These runners make sure to gather the night before a meet and to motivate each other.

With a thirst for competition and a true love for running these Falcons have set goals as a team and individually for the season.

“Our goal this year is to make it to State or place in the top 20 as a team,” Julie Stewart said.
