The Cerritos College Football Team suffered its first loss on Saturday against EL Camino.

In the first half the Falcons dominated the game with a 14-10 lead.

Toward the end of the first half and into the second the game took a drastic turn around.

Within the first five minutes of the game the Falcons turned over the ball and El Camino scored putting them ahead 17-14.

Seven minutes later El Camino regained the ball once again and scored 23-14.

During the third Quarter the Falcons decided to get back into game and scored a touchdown.

With the score now being 23-20 the Falcons had the chance to take back the game with another quarter remaining but El Camino regained possession of the ball.

El Camino dominated the game by making three more touchdowns finalizing the score to 44-21.

The once undefeated Falcons have loss their first game of the season.

Because of 7 fumbles, blocked punts, 6 turnovers, a dropped ball, 15 mental errors, and two major penalties the Falcons seemed to have fallen apart.

The question raises What Happened?

“We made too many mental mistakes, we weren’t covering, our defense did good, but we had seven fumbles. The guys were not focused,” said head coach Frank Mazzotta.

“Going into the game we were over confidant. We thought, we got this.

We didn’t take care of business like we should of,” said Mike Braggs.

The Falcons were 5-0 and ranked No.1 in Southern California, but because of the loss they have moved down passed the No. 3 spot on the J.C. Grid wire stats and are now 0-1 in the Mission Conference.
