Richard McGrath Memorial ScholarshipEstablished in memory of Dick “Mac” McGrath, Administration of JusticeProfessor who taught for over 30 years. This scholarship is awarded tooutstanding students in the Administration of Justice Department.Annual Award – $250. (Faculty Selected)

Stephen Blair Memorial ScholarshipEstablished by the family of Stephen Blair. Mr. Blair was a nine-year veteran with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department who was killed in the line of duty. This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding Administration of Justice student.Annual Award- $250 (Faculty Selected)

John Pelloni Memorial ScholarshipEstablished in memory of Cosmetology professor John Pelloni, and is awarded to outstanding students in the Cosmetology Department.Annual Award to be determined

Disabled StudentsAlice Collins Memorial ScholarshipEstablished in memory of former employee of D.S.P.S. , Alice Collins. This scholarship is awarded to disabled students for educational needs.(Department Selected)Award: $75.00

Earth ScienceThe Delvers Gem and Mineral Society ScholarshipThis scholarship was founded by the Delvers Gem and Mineral Society to further the science of geology. The Delvers were a local “rock hound” club interested in the economic and aesthetic value of rocks and minerals, as well as the more conventional scientific approach to the study of the earth. This scholarship is awarded to a declared Geology Major who has completed physical geology (Geology 101) at Cerritos College, and who demonstrates outstanding academic potential. Selection of the recipient(s) is made by the faculty of the Earth Science Department. Up to three scholarships per year may be awarded at the discretion of the department, contingent on maintaining an adequate balance in the scholarship fund.Award: $200

The Joan Licari ScholarshipThis scholarship was founded in honor of Dr. Joan Licari, who retired at the end of June, 2001 after teaching in the Earth Science Department at Cerritos for over 30 years. This scholarship is awarded to a declared Geography Major who has completed at least one geography course at Cerritos College, and who demonstrates outstanding academic potential. Selection of the recipient(s) is made by the faculty of the Earth Science Department. Up to three scholarships per year may be awarded at the discretion of the department.Award: $200

Cassidy Family ScholarshipEstablished by Foundation board member and former chairman Jack Cassidy, this scholarship is awarded to outstanding students in the Visual Communications Department.Annual Award- $500 (Faculty Selected)

Duke Ellington Music ScholarshipAwarded to an African American student who demonstrates exceptional talent in jazz or contemporary music either in voice or as an instrumentalist.Awards range from $50 – $2000

The Scott Henderson Memorial ScholarshipEstablished by the Music Department in memory of long time music faculty member Scott F. Henderson. Awarded to outstanding music students in the Applied Music Program.Annual Award- $100 – $250 (Faculty Selected)

The Pepsi ScholarshipAwarded to two outstanding students in the Music, Theatre, Art, or Photography departments. This scholarship is awarded in the Fall and Spring semesters.Annual Award- two, $250 (Faculty Selected)

Health CareJack Hoekzema Medical Assisting ScholarshipEstablished in memory of Dr. Jack Hoekzema, a physician from Bellflower who was a dedicated and generous supporter of Cerritos College and the Foundation. It is awarded to an outstanding student in the Medical Assisting Program.Annual Award – $300Deadline to apply – 1/30

Jean F. Crum Nursing ScholarshipEstablished in memory of former Foundation Chairman and Downey surgeon, Dr. Jean Crum and is awarded to an outstanding graduate of the Registered Nursing program who plans to continue his/her education towards a B.S. degree.Annual Award – $350 / Deadline to apply – 2/15

Pat Pinder ScholarshipEstablished in memory of Pat Pinder, long-time faculty member in the Health Occupations Division, former Faculty Senate President, and Director of the Student Health and Wellness Center, this scholarship will be awarded to outstanding students in the Health Occupations Division.Annual Award to be determined

International StudentsCerritos College/Mt. Sierra CollegeTransfer ScholarshipThis scholarship is a matching scholarship established for InternationalStudents who are active on campus and are transferring to Mt. Sierra College. This scholarship will be awarded at a recognition ceremony for International Students.Annual Amount: $500

International Student ScholarshipThis scholarship is established by the International Student Center to recognize an outstanding international student who is active on campus. This student must have at least a 2.5 GPA and must be an active member of the International Student Association. Awards will be given at a recognition ceremony for International Students.Annual Award: $500

Learning AssistanceCommeford Memorial ScholarshipEstablished by Professor of Reading, Dr. William Broderick, this scholarship, named in honor of Dr. Broderick’s father-in-law, will be used to assist developmental students in their educational pursuits.Annual award- $500/semester (Faculty selected)

MiscellaneousLearning Communities Faculty ScholarshipThis scholarship is will be awarded in three different areas: AcademicExcellence, Community Service, and Leadership. There will be three scholarships in the amount of $500 each awarded to three students that excel in these three areas. Physical EducationL.A. Watts Summer Games Community College ScholarshipThis scholarship is sponsored by the L.A. Junior Chamber of Commerce,recognizing students who are majoring in Fitness, Physical Education or as an athletic trainer and have been already accepted to a four-year university.Annual award-$1000
