The Cerritos College football team has done it again. Even in wind and rain the Falcons won in a close game against Long Beach City College on Saturday.

During the first half Long Beach dominated the game with a 3-0 lead over the Falcons. The Falcons managed to hold Long Beach and came back in the second half of the game and made a touch down in the third quarter leading the game with a 6-3 score.

The game went down to the last minute, but the Falcons took the game and added another win to their successful season.

With three penalties and five fumbles, but only two of the five fumbles were lost the Falcons still managed to hold their own in the mud.

Doug Stewart, No.9 and Mike Bragg, No. 3 each had an interception. Stewart had a 16 yard interception.

The game wasn’t the only thing the Falcons took home.

A frat from Long Beach called the Order of Thor started a Cross Town Rivalry with Cerritos College this year.

The cup had the Long Beach mascot as well as Cerritos’ mascot on the cup.

The cup was presented to the Cerritos football team after the game.The Cerritos College football teams defense really took over the game and made things happen. The defense had four downs inside the No. Two-yard line.

“Defense really came thorough for us. Defense is what it takes to winconference,” said head coach Frank Mazzotta.

The Falcons are now 2-1 in conference and 7-1 overall.

The Falcons have a new challenge for them coming up on Saturday.

The Cerritos College football team will be playing one of the toughest teams in conference, Pasadena City at 7 p.m. at Pasadena City College.
