Police Logs: Purse snatchings

Nov. 4 to 10

Monday 4No significant incidents were reported.

Tuesday 5At 5:20p.m. an officer responded to the physical building regarding a theft report. The victim said she left her purse unattended in her unsecured office. When she returned five hours later, she discovered that her purse had been stolen.

Wednesday 6At 2p.m. an officer responded to the Campus Police Station lobby regarding a theft report. The victim said she left her purse unattended on a desk in the Reading Center. Five hours later, the victim discovered someone had stolen money from her purse.

At 3:48p.m. an officer was flagged down on Gridley Road near Kincaid Field. A student reported that a baseball came over the fence and stuck his vehicle’s roof, denting it. A property damage report was taken.

Thursday 7At 10a.m. an officer responded to the Learning Resource Center regarding a theft report. The victim said she left her purse unattended under a desk. When she returned several minutes later, she discovered the purse had been stolen.

At 1:15p.m. an officer responded to the Book Store regarding a theft report. The victim said she left her backpack unattended in a storage cubicle while she shopped. When she returned about five minutes later, she discovered her backpack had been stolen.

At 4p.m. an officer responded to the Campus Police Station lobby regarding a past occurred grand theft report. The victim said that on Oct. 30, someone stole his bicycle from the rack by the Burnight Center.

At 4:20p.m. an officer on routine patrol was flagged down by a student reporting vandalism. The victim said someone slashed three of the tires to his vehicle.

Friday 8No significant incidents were reported.

Saturday 9At 8 a.m. an officer discovered a shattered glass door at the International Student Office. It was later discovered that a computer monitor had been stolen. A burglary report was taken.

At 1p.m. an officer responded to Lot C-10 regarding a vehicle theft report. The victim said someone stole his 1989 Toyota Camry from the location. The vehicle was subsequently recovered.

Sunday 10No significant incidents were reported.
