Going into the Southern California Regional Playoffs, the Cerritos College volleyball team knew that, as the #16-seeded team, they would be facing the top team in the first round.
The Falcons saw their post-season come to an abrupt end, as #1 Moorpark swept the Falcons, 30-23, 30-17, 30-18, as Cerritos ended the season with a 12-8 mark and a second place finish in the South Coast Conference.
After playing the Raiders tight in the first game, they were unable to keep up with the Western State Conference champions. Freshman Sindy Mendez, the SCC Player of the Year, led the team with 11 kills and four blocks, but it wasn’t enough to propel the team.
The sophomore duo of Tiffany Tolentino and Vanessa Cid recorded just three kills each, with sophomore Susie Liufau chipping in with four kills and a team-high 14 digs on the night.
