It is very easy to lose focus. Whether you are coming back from a vacation or you are distracted by a steamy love affair, losing focus can be detrimental.

Who can remember the first semester of their freshman year?

Everthing is fresh and new, exciting and liberating!

Then the break comes and somehow we slip right back into partying!

While this may be harmless to a seasoned veteran, but to a freshman it can cause him to lose that drive that he began the year with.

I am not suggesting that everyone avoid celebrating during the holidays.

What I am suggesting is that we maintain a balance and be mindful of our responsibilities.

We need to be diligent with our education.

We are the only ones who stand in the way of our success.

It is easy to lose momentum. However, we must not let that be an excuse to slack off and let our fire burn out!

There is a time for everything. All during the holidays I partied hard.

Each day I get up in the morning without any motivation to get to class, I can only blame myself for this because I did not prepare to come back to school. Not my performance is suffering.

Trying to get back on the ball is harder when you let the first few weeks pass by without any enthusiasm.

Focus. This five lettered word is so simple and so small, yet it has so much meaning.

It is the key to your future success. As this semester gets off to a running start, try not to play catch up. Be on top of your game and you will definitely be a winner!
