For years millions of Americans have lived in distress and disgust as shadow walkers, shopping, dining, working and doing hundreds of other activities in the vile smog of a smokers “choice of life style.”
It is well established that smoking cigarettes and tobacco products in general is harmful.
It is also true that millions of Americans die every year of heart cancer lung cancer and other health complications due to second hand smoke.
Fully aware and conscious of what their smoking dose to others and themselves smokers continue to light up.
The addictive nature of smoking is not at question, but the need for areas were they can continue to kill themselves without harming others is.

Individualism and the liberty and right to do what one thinks will bring them happiness is fundamental, but liberty comes with responsibility that revolves around not putting others in harms way.
Recently smoking in restaurants was banned. This is a good step in the right direction but we must continue until the social pressure that brought many to smoking helps drive at least some out of it.
