Madonna ‘Loves New York’

How do you express your love for the city that started your career?

In a song of course and that is what Madonna has done with the song that will be released as a B-Single track, “I Love New York” for the multi-platnium CD Confessions on a Dance Floor (Warner Bros. Records).

The single which is to be included in the third CD release of “Get Together” as a remix is another hit in the over 60 songs that the “Hung Up” hitmaker has released since she exploded onto the music scene with her self-title album back in 1983.

In addition to the worldwide success of the CD, not only is Madonna preparing to go on tour beginning on May 21 in Los Angeles, this song is one that will be performed during the “Confessions” Tour.

With lyrics such as, “I don’t like cities but I like New York/Other places make me feel like a dork/Los Angeles is for people who sleep/Paris and London/Baby you can keep” you must remember that she is writing a song and is only addressing her opinion in addition, to saying thank you in a way that lets the city of New York what she had to go through to be one of he most famous woman on the face of the earth.

As her upcoming tour has sold out worldwide and the Detroit, MI born star has called London home she declares in the song’s chorus, “No other city ever made me glad except New York/I love New York.”

The lyrics that address Madonna’s attitude toward those who don’t like what she has to say is when the 47-year-old sings, “If you don’t like my attitude/Then you can F off/Just go to Texas/Isn’t that where they golf.”

As you will hear she also takes a swipe at the President of the United States George W. Bush (despite that her father Tony Ciccone is a life long Republican).

Stuart Price (aka Jacques Lu Cont) the man behind the hitmaking music done an excellent job of drawing the people in and bring ’70s disco music and transform into the 21st century music of today.

Price, who followed William Orbit ( 1998’s Ray of Light) and Mirwais Ahmadzai (2000’s Music and 2003’s American Life) was the man that Madonna turned to and was inspired to write music for “Confessions.”

The former “Evita” star also has improved greatly in her vocal range and sings with a purpose: to let those who wrote her off and said that her career was over before it due to her appearance at the 1984 MTV Video Music Awards in a wedding dress and ended with her rolling around the stage started that she is still revelant…23 years later!

Overall, this song will no doubt having the appeal that everyone (including myself) will fall in love with and subsequently will fall in love a city that helped begin the Queen of Pop’s extrodinary career.
