Construction workers set off alarm in Student Center

The fire alarm in the Student Center was set off on Tuesday, Sept. 9, after construction workers tripped the alarm.

Police Captain Tom Gallivan said, “At 9:23 we had an activation of a fire alarm in the Student Center; Facilities; two officers and a sergeant responded and as soon as they got there they were told by construction workers that they accidentally activated the alarm.

“So they did a walk-through just to confirm and determined there was no smoke, no fire and no need for any kind of evacuation.”

It is unknown where the construction workers were working exactly or how they set off the alarm.
