Women’s swim
Sophomore swimmers Mehgan Carbajal and Jessie Ku both took home individual South Coast Conference Championships during the second day of the SCC Championships at the FalconAquaticCenter.
Carbajal captured her championship in the 50-yard breaststroke (32.81) and it is her third first-place finish of the season.
She also finished fifth in the 200-yard individual medley and third in the 200-yard medley relay, along with Ku and sophomores Kristen Rivas and Kristin Nepi.
Ku narrowly defeated a swimmer from Chaffey in her win in the 50-yard backstroke.
The win was her seventh first-place finish of the season.
Men’s swim
Sophomore PJ Gabayeron added to his cabinet of awards by winning his second straight 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.39.
He also swam in the 200-medley relay, along with, freshmen Enrico Hildago, Mario Ibarra and Davey Brown, that won the championship with a time of 1:31:81.
