Both of the Cerritos College swimming teams were able to lock up top three finishes in the South Coast Conference championships held this week at the Falcon Aquatic Center.
The men were able to finish in second place with a total of 656 points, trailing only Mount San Antonio College who won the meet with 799 points.
Sophomore swimmer PJ Gabayeron won his third conference championship this week, winning the 200-yard breaststroke.
He was also named the Co-Swimmer of the Meet.
The women finished third in the SCC with 481 team points behind Mt. SAC and Chaffey College, who had 657 and 784, respectively.
Sophomore Mehgan Carbajal won her second individual SCC championship, winning the 100-yard breaststroke.
On Monday, both teams will find out who has qualified for the State Championships at East Los Angeles College on April 28-30.
