The Cerritos College football team drops to 0-2 on the season after losing to Palomar College 41-27 on Saturday.
The Falcons will go back on the road to face Long Beach City College at Veterans Stadium next Saturday.
The game was tied 13-13 after three quarters and then 27-27 in the fourth before Palomar running back Chad Dobbins scored on a 1-yard run with 2 minutes and 22 seconds remaining.
On the ensuing drive, Falcons’ starting quarterback Brandon Denker threw a 41-yard-interception that was returned for a touchdown by Palomar safety Devin Taverna, which all but sealed the deal for the comets.
