Jonathan Smith of Pasadena City College turned out to be a scoring machine against Cerritos College Saturday evening as he scored six touchdowns while leading the Lancers to a 51-12 pounding of the Falcons.
The loss was Cerritos’ third of the season and was a real blow to the Falcons, who were looking to get back into first place in their conference.
Falcon running back Kevin Denis said, “We should have come ready to play. Pasadena lost to El Camino last week and we throught this was going to be an easy game. We should focus on the mental part of the game. Once we do we will win.”
Falcon linebacker Jason Jones said that the team should have played as a team. “We needed to execute our assignments. We need to play as a team to beat Riverside (this week).”
Falcon defensive end Armando Calderon agreed. “We needed to step-up on both sides of the ball. We needed to advance our turnovers. We need to play smarter. We will beat Riverside, we just need to stop making mistakes.”
