Changes to come next semester

Financial AidThe Financial Aid is looking into up grading their website (www.cerritos.edu/ financial aid.com) to service the students better. Having the answers to the most commonalty asked question 1.Where am I in the processes?2.How much am I getting?3.When will I receive it?

The Admissions and Records Office8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Admissions and RecordsNot that huge changes will happen this spring semester, however little changes will happen for example: Cerritos College will be sending out spring 2003 Falcon phone appointments starting Oct. 28. To insure the prompt delivery of Falcon phone appointments, Admissions and Records needs to have students’ current addresses. To change an address, students must visit Admissions and Records with a picture ID before Oct. 21.

Counseling During the beginning of the Fall Semester the Counseling Office experimented with the walk in slots. “It turned out so good expected to see it this Spring Semester” said Carol C. Patrick, MS MA Administrative dean of counseling.

“One day we had 2,000 students who wanted to see counselors. We had to make some changes.” Patrick mentions.

Major changes to the counseling office is “Basically, just allowing students to sign-up, guessing who many students we can see for that day.” Patrick comments.

The “Walk in Slots” will here for the new semesters for quick counseling questions. “The week of Aug.19, 2,012 students registered, 40% where continuing students.” She added.

Students are urge to start their paper work, and see counseling now. Especially students on probation:A. Academic ProbationStudents who have attempted at least 12 units as shown by the official academic record shall be placed probation if the students have earned a grade point average below 2.0 in all units undertaken at Cerritos College.

B. Progress ProbationStudents who have enrolled in a total of at least 12 units as shown by the official academic record shall be placed on progress probation when the percentage of all units at Cerritos College in which the students have enrolled and for which entries of “W”, “I”, and “NC” are recorded reaches or exceeds 50 percent.
