The wrestling team faced Golden West and had a victory of 25-21 in a dual conference match.

The Falcons are now rated No. 3 in the state.

The wrestling team is 6-2 overall and 4-1 in Conference.

The Falcons will have their last Conference match on the 20th of Wednesday against Palomars who is ranked No. 1 in the state.

If the Falcons win against Palomars the Falcons will be Conference Champions.

After becoming Conference Champions the team hopes to go on to Regionals, State, and Nationals.

The results of the Golden West Tournament are:-Juan Ravolta who weighed in at 133 pounds won in his weight division.-Demacio Page who weighed in at 141 pounds won in his weight division.-Marc Alra who weighed in at 149 pounds won in his weight division.-Scott Oda who weighed in at 157 pounds won in his weight division.-Emiliano Lopez who weighed in at 165 pounds went into double time

“I guess I just ran out of gas, ” wrestler Emiliano Lopez said.

-Jerry Baragain who weighed in at 174 pounds won because of a technical fall.

-Jason Alavazo who weighed in at 184 pounds was pinned and therefore lost in his match.

-Tad Malaine who weighed in at 197 pounds won in his weight class by pinning his opponent.

“We have a lot of good skill, but we need to bring our skill together if we want to win state,” Emiliano Lopez said.

The match against Palomars will be a tough match for Cerritos to face but they have the talent and skill needed to go all the way.
