Improv show bares all

Improv show bares all

For all those who missed it, The Generic Improvisational Peep Show Comes Home(Again) is gone, done, over.

And apparently on January 29, opening night, not many people either heard news of the show, or didn’t care to come. The audience was close to empty.

Never the less, the show and it’s performers gave their all and committed every ounce of talent in their body to the audience.

The show was done in the small stage, which was appropriately set up with lively music, and dim lights, and started at 8 p.m.

First, they started off with Smartest Man Alive. This game is when you group three people together and when you do, you get the smartest man alive.

This game can always be performed well, because as soon as the host snaps his fingers, the sentence must be completed by the next performer.

Even if they have no idea what theword was.

The team went through 13 different games during the evening including favorites such as Meet The World and The Blues.

During Meet the World, the “host of the show (John Jimenez), interviewed a paranoid man (Nick Laris), a man who crossed the Atlantic on a toothpick(Christopher Alvarado),and a bomb tester.

Blues may have been the funnest game of all. Laris, Alvarado, and Bill Blush got up and sang a blues song (live music courtesy of David Wrathall) about their “chonies” being too tight.

Does it get much better than that?!

I had a great time at the Improv show. Not only because the performers have the courage to get on stage and perform, but also because they are doing it right off the top of their heads.

There were a few awkward moments but that is to be expected when you are dealing with Improv which deals with the unexpected.

And to anyone who saw the show and was pleased with what they saw, don’t doubt yourself for a minute. Auditions to join the Improv Touring group are March 7.
