Playstation 5 Showcase: Excitement for a price

With only a few months left until the Holiday season, many people were wondering what the launch games, price, and release date for Sony’s new PlayStation 5.

Just recently they showed the “PS5 Showcase,” 40 minutes of gameplay and details about both the console and games that’ll come with it.

The biggest talking point was the release date and price.

Sony has finally announced both the release date and price of the PlayStation 5, Nov. 12, and the price of $500 for the standard version and $400 for the digital console.

While the price for the standard version is the same as the Xbox Series X, the digital version is $100 more expensive than the Series S.

One of the biggest surprises that many fans didn’t expect was “Final Fantasy 16,” as Square Enix gave us a trailer showing off a bit of the story and gameplay, showing what it’ll look like on the PS5.

It was confirmed that this new title will be a PlayStation console exclusive, though no release date has yet to be announced. This may upset some fans but having a big exclusive like Final Fantasy is good for marketing.

“Spider-Man: Miles Morales” got another trailer showing off some brand new gameplay while also showing what the PS5 can do. The lighting and visuals are without a doubt really impressive.

However, this game is also slated for a PS4 release as well so there isn’t a reason to buy a PS5 just for this game. Regardless, it looks amazing and will no doubt excite both Marvel and Spider-Man fans.

One of the more surprising announcements has been the brand new Harry Potter Action RPG game titled “Hogwarts Legacy.”

In this game, the player takes control of a Hogwarts student in the 1800’s as they can explore the school while also facing off against many enemies and discovering secrets. This game is slated for release in 2021.

The last big announcement was that the “God of War” would be coming back with a brand new game. No other information regarding it, only showing the logo and the phrase “Ragnarok is coming.”

There was some small stuff also like new trailers and gameplay of previously announced games like “Demon Souls”, ” Resident Evil 8: Village”, “Deathloop” and much more.

But sadly the presentation was just average at best due to some of the big games also coming to the PS4 on top of the games being $70, plus the price of the console.

With everything that has been shown so far, it’s best to just not get the console yet as the launch games and future games will be available for the previous-gen as well.

But, for Sony fans, they’ll be purchasing it on pre-order that will soon be available.
