High school got a quick glimpse of what college life is like at Cerritos College.Senior Preview Day at Cerritos College gave opportunities for students from various high schools to come look at the campus on Friday, April 19.
Booths from different clubs and departments showcased possible career paths and major’s that might entice students who are interested in attending Cerritos College.
Some students got a tour of the campus as well, there was also a Hot Dog on a Stick truck and other food offered to the students free of charge.
Han Ky Chong, a member of the pharmacy technician program, was helping out at its booth, “It was pretty fun, there was a lot of people who came here asking questions.”
He continued,”I kind of wished, when I was in high school, that my school could have done this.”
Amber Guilbault, cosmetology major, talked about how things went at her booth, “It’s going great, we’ve had quite a few students come over from a lot of different high schools to get manicures.”
High school student Mary Licon said, “I learned a lot of things about college that I never knew before,” She went to talk about the booths, “The booths, even though we didn’t go to the presentations they still told us about what their presenting and we got some insight on that.”
At the cosmetology booth, workers were giving out free manicures to the high school students that visited its booth. One of the high school students, Norma Montez talked about her experience at the booth, “It was nice that they are doing the manicure for the students for free.”
Senior Preview Day was ran by student volunteers from Cerritos College.
