Watch the ‘Watchmen’

Watch+the+Watchmen

“Watchmen” is another great superhero comic that translated perfectly into film.

However, this isn’t your typical superhero movie.

It isn’t about the superhero defeating the villain and everyone lives happily ever after.

It’s a great story that defies the standard comic book form of storytelling.

The characters aren’t the coolest heroes ever, but the story is among the best in the genre.

Director Zack Snyder (“300”) took the comic miniseries by Alan Moore (“V for Vendetta”) and accurately told the story, not straying far from the story line at all.

Running at approximately three hours in length, it covers just about everything the comic book did.

The only changes included the costumes of Ozymandias (Matthew Goode) and the Silk Spectre (Malin Akerman).

Their costumes were just updated from the original comic book. The original costume wouldn’t have looked good in a live action film.

Also the ending was changed a bit, to Moore fans’ disapproval.

Despite that, the movie’s ending tied into the story much better than the comic’s.

The actors were all perfect for their roles.

Billy Crudup’s Doc Manhattan and Jackie Earle Haley’s Rorschach felt like they jumped out of the page and onto the silver screen.
