Spring Breakers Movie Review

If you are the type of person that is entertained by violence, drug use, partying, and carefree naked women, Spring Breakers is the movie for you.

Director Harmony Korine, best known for writing the 1995 film Kids, again brings us youth full of angst and law- breaking action, only this time it takes place during spring break off the beaches of Florida.

Best friends since early childhood, Faith, Candy, Cotty, and Brit full of pent-up frustration as they go about their monotonous daily lives and will do almost anything to get away from it all.

Spring Break is their chance to escape.

The attractive young women think up a scheme that will allow them the chance to take a spring break vacation far away from their dull college lives.

They see their chance, they make their move, and they succeed- sort of.

Along the way they meet tons of like-minded party-goers who are just as eager as them to let loose and have a good time.

Among these partiers, is James Franco’s character, Alien.

Alien takes the four girls under his wing and for the ride of their lives as they break laws left and right.

In a twisted way, these four girls allow the viewer to fantasize about what it would be like to just say “screw it all” and take life by the horns and live life to the fullest, not giving any damns.

Isn’t that what we all secretly sometimes wish we could do?

Spring Breakers is definitely worth the price of a matinee movie ticket.
