To express the gratitude toward veterans, a color guard group and a band will be attending the Veterans day ceremony, taking place at the steps of the Burnight Theater on Monday, Nov. 10.

The meeting to discuss the planned events was Thursday, Sept. 18, in room BK 111.

The Cerritos College school band will be playing the national anthem at the ceremony and the school’s color guard group will be preforming there, also.

During the ceremony, special invites, such as former veterans, will be discussing and expressing how their experience serving the United States military was.

Miles Aiello, ASCC student body president, said, “The event will be a ceremony targeted to shed light on those who have served our country. One of the main objectives for the event is to get numerous clubs on campus involved, to help students grow into becoming leaders and taking ownership and responsibility.”

He continued, “But, also, additionally, to have the event centered around emotion and to really have the audience captivated by what it means to be a veteran for the United States military.”

A numerous group of student speakers will also be talking at the Veterans Day ceremony.

Veterans that show up will be handed a pin that one of the ASCC members designed especially for them.

I love going through everyday and seeing what heaven throws for me every single day. I love the people I spend my everyday with, but for me the most important of all the people though, is my family. My mom is a mom of four children, myself and three brothers, and I am so grateful for them. I can't wait for what has yet to come in my life.
