Rob: The most devastating typhoon to ever hit the Philippines has left thousands dead and even more homeless. As various groups from all over are contributing to assist the surviving Filipino population . The International Students Association based here at Cerritos College has decided to do their part in assisting those in need by fundraising through bowling.

Rob: ISA President Charles Caguioa recalled living in the Philippines during storm season and how severe the weather can be .

Charles: “ I remember living back in the Philippines I think I was around 10 or 9 and um the winds were so strong I remember going out with my dad and we were trying to maintain the gates because our gates were starting to wobble down and I could have sworn I could have seen a couple of houses over on the side of mountains just eroding down and you could see them sliding down too and so it’s a scary thought I was really concerned maybe hopefully our house didn’t slide down too seeing that our house was also on a hill. We do have a Filipino demographic in our club so what better way to support their nation than to help them out”

Rob: He went on to explain the details as to how one can contribute to this event as 15 percent of bowling purchases would be donated from round one

Charles: “They can just show the flyer and once they show the flyer that pretty much validates whatever purchase they have “

Rob : ISA Member Samantha Pepito was in attendance at round 1 and hoped people felt good about helping those in need

Samantha : “I really hope they feel good about helping out those victims because its really an unfortunate event that occurred id really like them to know to stay strong and know there is always hope in everything.”

Rob: After attending they event Patrick Martin the Vice President of the Filipino Club shared his thoughts on what he thought about the fundraiser

Patrick: “You don’t really care about how much you spend because like the amount you spend its for a good cause it was a good experience it was fun as well but at the same time it was more of a good feeling knowing its going toward something good.”

Rob: Reporting from round one this is Rob Flores
