Los Angeles Harbor College quarterback Chris Smith and running back Theron West amassed over 280 yards as the Seahawks went on to defeat the Cerritos College football team 28-23 on Saturday.
The Falcons, who haven’t lost a season opener since 2006, had plenty of chances to take the lead but several turnovers would prevent them from doing so.
In the minute of the game, Falcon quarterback Morgan Fennell threw an interception to an LA Harbor defensive back that was returned to Harbor territory.
The Falcons will face a non-conference opponent Palomar College in their home opener at Falcon Stadium on Saturday. Last season, Cerritos defeated Palomar 34-17.
