Porn-dogs need to leave children alone

Pornhub’s performative “wokeness” with saving the bees, planting trees or whatever the fuck and possibly buying Tumblr, won’t stop twisted fucks from engaging in and posting child pornography and exploiting sex workers.

It should be a universal understanding, to porn enthusiasts and haters alike, that children must be protected from the dangers of early exposure to pornographic content, especially when the internet can be a free-for-all.

After Apple noticed child pornography on Tumblr, the company took it upon themselves to remove the app from the Apple store and in December 2018, Tumblr banned all adult content showcasing genitalia and sexual activity.

Nevermind that folks on Tumblr had already brought up the issue of child pornography on the website before the ban or deletion of the app took place.

According to BuzzFeed News, Pornhub’s Vice President, said not only is the company extremely interested in buying Tumblr, but also looks forward to “restoring it to its former glory of NSFW content.”

Cue a dead look in the eyes.

Pornhub is giving itself too much credit when it and parent company MindGeek have been known for cases of revenge porn and “widespread piracy of porn films” that make it difficult for sex workers to earn a living, as stated by Tech Crunch.

Regardless of the stigma against sex workers, they deserve what they are owed.

Let’s be real, Tumblr was a godsend for those looking to get their porn fix, which, okay, people are entitled to do whatever they please in their free time.

No one is going to come knocking on your chamber door, policing you for watching porn or jacking off to incest and violence against women, however disturbing that is.

Before the NSFW ban, it was the norm to see a big, whopping penis on your dashboard at 7 a.m. and not be too phased.

As adults, it’s your problem if you’re exposed to enough porn to be jaded, but that shouldn’t be the case for a 13-year-old Tumblr user.

Who’s to say Pornhub buying Tumblr won’t bring back the problems it was trying to get rid of in the first place?

It is important to question what policies, or lack thereof, Pornhub will put in place.

If the company does end up buying Tumblr, it comes down to adults’ due diligence in reporting child pornography if they ever come across it and doing research on how this will affect sex workers.

Also, if you’re a grown ass adult following 13-year-olds and posting porn, you’re just a straight-up creep and need to not be in the near vicinity of any child.

Art depicting sexual activity and nudity, however, is usually well protected under the First Amendment.

Artists on Tumblr who specialized in eroticism took a hit and lost their platform, restricting their freedom of expression.

Are we going to ban and cancel Venus de Milo for it’s “female-presenting nipples?” I think not.

Just get rid of the child porn, for fuck’s sake.

I’m personally hoping that they do decide to purchase it…although it’s now July and we haven’t heard any updated rumors.

Is the answer, perhaps, to up the required age to use tumblr to 18? Tumblr has just been such a great resource for people exploring their sexuality and indulging their imaginations. I think it’s a shame there became such a problem. I know Tumblr has helped me discover alot about myself and I created quite a following!

There’s always someone out there that is going to ruin a great thing…looking at you, creeps posting underage material.

As a very open minded student, I fully support your right to practice the first amendment right of free speech, but I think this illustration is pushing it. Your editorial seemed to be an attack more than an actual editorial tackling the issues you have with Pornhub’s interest in purchasing Tumblr.

One of your points, as valid as it is really missed the mark because you argued that porn should be distained from underage teens, but you contradicted that with an illustration of a heterosexual couple showing genitalia on one side and a teen on the other.

Overall this editorial really missed the mark on what could have been a great editorial piece surrounding the potential purchase. I too, am against the purchase as underage teens should not be exposed to materials that Tumblr once hosted, maybe next time keep the “fucks” out and try not to be so overwhelmingly annoying.

The norm to see a big, whopping penis on tumblr? The site had a ton more spread open and wet vaginas. There were even tumblr sites that were dedicated to vaginas and various shapes, sizes, and colors shown that it was difficult to not see them, even by accident. Let’s not ignore that.
